Farmhouse Getaways
Two properties in Ramona — a four-acre working ranch and an eight-acre mountain retreat. Book direct, no booking fees.
Carissa Ultsch spent a decade in finance at Marriott before moving out to Ramona and building Mini Barn Market — an honor-system farm stand at the back gate of the ranch, open around the clock, every day of the year.
Running one turned out to be the fastest way to find out how many others were out there. Stands nobody had written down, at the end of roads nobody drives, run by people who had never thought to advertise. So we started filming them.
Farmstand.TV is that: short tours of the farm stands of Southern California, made by people who run one. Everything we find goes on the map, and the map is free.
Potato Chip Rock at the top of Mount Woodson, which is the most photographed hike in the county. Eighteen holes threaded through boulders at Mt. Woodson Golf Club, minutes from our own farm stand. More than forty-five wineries. And the road up to Julian when you want pie. That is a very full day out, and it is why the map exists.
Cory and Carissa run two places in Ramona and the farm stand at the back gate of one of them. If you are driving the map, you may as well wake up in the middle of it.
